Timescales and fees

Parenting assessments

A standard single person parenting assessment will typically be charged at 35 hours (plus travel). The assessment will take 8 - 12 weeks depending upon each individual situation.

A standard couple / joint person parenting assessment will typically be charged at 50 hours (plus travel). The assessment will take 8 - 12 weeks depending upon each individual situation.

I will always promote the longest assessment period; whilst also being mindful of a child's timescales.  It is essential that parents are provided with sufficient time to gain insight and evidence positive change.

If there is a significant amount of reading additional hours (5-10 hours) may be charged. For example, previous care proceedings, large siblings groups, extensive medical reports etc.

ParentAssess

A ParentAssess single person parenting assessment will typically be charged at 45 hours (plus travel). The assessment will take 10 - 12 weeks depending upon each individual situation.

A ParentAssess couple / joint person parenting assessment will typically be charged at 60 hours (plus travel). The assessment will take 10 - 12 weeks depending upon each individual situation.

It is highly unlikely I would consider it appropriate to complete a ParentAssess assessment in less than 10 weeks. ParentAssess is a framework developed for assessing parents who have learning disabilities and other additional needs within childcare proceedings. It is not right or fair to parents or their children for these assessments to be complete in less than 10 weeks.

A mother requires 6 weeks post birth before they are able to engage in a parenting assessment. Although some preparation work can be undertaken before this time, I would not agree to start an assessment before the new born baby is 6 weeks old. This applies to all types of parenting assessments.
