I conduct comprehensive Parenting Assessments of parents and their partners in both pre-proceedings and care proceedings. It is essential that children are provided every opportunity to grow up in the care of their parents. This goal necessitates thorough parenting assessments that go beyond mere information gathering.

ParentAssess Parenting Assessments

I use the ParentAssess framework to evaluate parents with learning disabilities and additional needs in childcare proceedings. This framework assesses both emotional and practical aspects of parenting, identifying strengths and concerns through a clear traffic light system for easy interpretation.

Applicable in cases where children are either in their parents' care or placed in foster care with supervised contact, ParentAssess employs various visual tools for clarity.

I subscribe to the ParentAssess software, ensuring each report includes the essential traffic light documents and tables.

Sibling Assessments and Family Time Assessments

I conduct comprehensive sibling assessments to evaluate the dynamics of sibling relationships and provide informed recommendations regarding whether siblings should remain together or be placed apart. These assessments address the emotional and practical complexities inherent in sibling relationships, starting from the premise that siblings should ideally have the opportunity to grow up together.

My assessments involve a thorough exploration of all relational options and support needs, ensuring robust and evidence-based recommendations. Additionally, I carefully consider the impact of family time involving parents, siblings, and extended family.

Family and Friends Assessments

I conduct comprehensive family and friends assessments to evaluate the suitability and dynamics of individuals who may be considered for supporting or caring for a child. These assessments involve a thorough review of potential caregivers' backgrounds, relationships, and environments.

The process includes examining the capacity of family members and friends to provide a stable and supportive environment for the child, considering both their ability to meet the child’s needs and the impact on existing family relationships. The assessment is designed to ensure that recommendations are well-founded and support the child's best interests.

Specialist Risk Assessments

I conduct specialist risk assessments to evaluate potential dangers posed by individuals in various contexts, particularly in cases involving substantial criminal allegations or convictions. This includes assessments related to findings of sexual abuse, physical abuse towards a child, or significant domestic abuse behaviors.

Supervision and Case Direction

I provide expert supervision and case direction to ensure the effective management and progression of families and their situations.
